Currently the Bulgarian center for advanced microscopy includes the following equipment:

  1. Andor Revolution XD spinning disc confocal microscope system for high-resolution live cell imaging, equipped with FRAP and laser micro-irradiation, that includes:
    1. Nikon TiE Inverted Microscope with Autofocus System
    2. Yokogawa CSU-X1 spinning disk
    3. Microscope stage automated in X, Y and Z directions. Movement in the Z direction is accomplished by a piezo element
    4. Three solid state lasers with wavelengths of 405 nm, 488 nm and 561 nm
    5. FRAPPA unit for Fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP) and photoactivation (PA)
    6. TuCam module that allows simultaneous imaging of two different wavelengths
    7. Two iXon3 897 EMCCD Cameras
    8. Borealis
    9. Optical anti-vibration table
    10. Computer configuration for controlling the microscope system
    11. Cell incubator for the microscope
    12. CO2 controller that maintains proper CO2 concentration in the cell incubator
    13. Temperature controller that maintains proper temperature in the cell incubator
    14. Micropoint laser micro-irradiation module
    15. IQ3 software for controlling the components of the microscope system, spinning disk, micro-irradiation module and FRAP module
